Bakugan games were voted one of the top toys for 2009 (it's
second year in a row!) and are a huge favorite among kids. The 2009 Toy of the Year (TOTY) Awards program is hosted by The Toy Industry Association (TIA) and pays tribute to the best in toys and children's entertainment; outstanding achievements by individuals, teams, and companies; and the creativity and playful spirit upon which the toy industry is based.
Bakugan is based on the story of Dan and his friends doing battle with their Bakugan Brawlers to save the planet of Vestroia and, ultimately, Earth from destruction.

Using strategy, the battle Bakugan games pit a variety of "Bakugan warriors"--such as "Juggernoids," "Fear rippers," and "Robatallians"--against each other for points.
The challenge is to earn points in the large black arena by rolling their Bakugan (or shooting them from a launcher) onto magnetic cards where the plastic spheres burst open to reveal the fearsome warrior apparatus inside.

The Vestal people love to watch them battle, unaware that they are intelligent creatures held captive by the VEXOS and powered by "Dimension Controllers". Dan, Drago and his new friends must find a way to destroy the Dimension Controllers and free the Bakugan before the power balance in New Vestroia causes another Nova! But the VEXOS have created mechanical Bakugan who are indestructible! Dan and Drago must use all of their skills to save New Vestroia and free the Bakugan!
